Natural Hair Care for Wigs

STEP BY STEP GUIDE

Prep your hair for your wig without braids

You do to braid your entire natural hair to protect you natural hair under your wigs. Follow the steps below then watch the following video for visual directions:

1. Ensure your hair is freshly washed, conditioned, detangled and clean.

2. Add a reasonable amount of water and cream based leave in conditioner / curl cream.

3. Add hair oils to seal the moisture

4. Ensure you also apply scalp cream and oils to your scalp by sectioning out your hair and massaging it in.

5. Part you hair down and use a bristle bush, a detangling comb or a wide tooth comb to brush your back then put it in a low ponytail.

6. Comb out your hair in the ponytail and section into 2 - a few parts and braid each section.

7. Spread your hair evenly on across your hair and apply a wig cap.

Apply a wig cap to:

- prevent friction from the wig being rubbed against your hair

- preserve the oils and moisture in your hair to stop it from transferring on to the wig.

8. Apply your wig.

10. Please ensure you moisturise your hair and oils and massage your scalp regularly (every 1 - 2 days ideally ) if your wig is not glue down.

11. You can create a mixture in a spray bottle with water, cream based moisturiser and oil for easy application to your hair.

If your wig will be glued down, be generous with the amount of products you put in your hair. We recommend that you do not go without moisture and oil longer than 1 week. The reasons for this are:

- Curly hair absorbs moisture quickly and can dry if lacking

- Curly hair needs moisture to feed on and survive.
